International Quilt Day is just around the corner, and as a featured artist on a past episode of The Quilt Show, (www.thequiltshow.com) I wanted to let you know about a gift that Alex and Ricky have put together for quilters around the world.

Route 66 Exhibit at Road To California Jan.24-27 2013

I spent New Years Day and the day after blog posting pics of all 50+ quilts and related exhibition panels ( includes the 66 foot map from Chicago to L.A.).  The  quilts are spectacular and need to be seen up close to appreciate the intricate quilting as well as imaging. I made a second quilt for the owner of Road to Ca.  Carolyn Reese has vivid memories as a very young girl.... walking along the highway... and waving to WWII troops passing in trains.

"My Gentle Giant Ben" honored at Houston..Update: Ben Won Master Award for Machine Artistry

The judging for this years November show is done... and I have received notice  that  BEN has won a top award.  I've waited to post this in case they called back to say oops... wrong number.  ;-(.  They have not so it looks like it's for real.  My first thoughts.... ohhh... I have to write a speech, second thought.. I must  go for shopping for a new outfit.  I won't know what honor exactly til awards night preceding the preview Oct 31st.  I'm humbled and honored.  Yeah BEN!!!!

Appearing at The Grand Galleries

What a hectic and wonderful summer. I was recently asked to become a member of the California Fiber Artists, a rather exclusive group of 2D and 3D artists exhibiting together in Galleries. My first opportunity to participate is here already at the California Theater Center For The Arts in Tracy, Ca. Exhibition begins Sept 8th with a Gallery Talk and Reception planned for Sept 29th. There is a great deal of talent in this group. I hope you get to stop by.

MQU Seasons Challenge May-June 2012 is out!

This was a nice honor.... My piece titled Artic Winter ( an Artic Fox in snow) is showcased on both page 3 and the Season Challenge article beginning on page 26. This Magazine continues to thrill me as a reader as well. This month.. Caryl Bryer Fallert is the featured artist and always an interesting read. check out MQUmag.com regarding subscription. They have a sale going presently.

Cruisin' the British Isles In August

Does this sound fun or what???? I immediately said yes to this teaching cruise. I have 2 fresh/new classes I'll be offering aboard ship on at sea days. Classes are included in cruise fare.
